My Story – From Passion to Profession

Since 2017, I have been actively contributing to the television and digital media industry as a Reporter, Senior Anchor, and Producer. Over the years, I’ve built a strong reputation for delivering credible journalism across formats — from ground reporting to studio anchoring and digital storytelling.My journey began in the field, reporting on crime, politics, natural disasters, floods, and high-intensity breaking news. Covering diverse beats strengthened my on-ground instincts, crisis-handling abilities, and my understanding of people, places, and the pulse of the public.
This hands-on experience laid the foundation for my transition into digital media, where I handled social media news, short-format stories, and anchoring for online platforms.In television news, I’ve gained extensive experience in hardcore anchoring, soft features, live bulletins, special shows, devotional programs, political discussions, celebrity interactions, and podcast-style interviews. I have had the privilege of interviewing renowned political leaders, film personalities, spiritual gurus, and other noteworthy figures.My work also extends to outdoor anchoring, creating on-location story series, especially for spiritual and temple-centric programs. Alongside anchoring and reporting, I’ve contributed to scriptwriting, show conceptualization, production, voice-overs, and team leadership, ensuring smooth execution in both field and studio environments.Currently, I am working as a Producer and Senior Anchor at a leading news channel, combining editorial judgement with creative storytelling to deliver meaningful content.I am passionate about impactful journalism, powerful narratives, and building trust with audiences across platforms. Born in Udaipur and raised in Jambusar, Kushagra Bhatt today stands as a well-known name in Gujarat’s electronic and digital media landscape. There is firm confidence in his voice, compassionate sensitivity in his words, and an unwavering commitment towards responsible journalism.Childhood Values and a Father’s InspirationKushagra’s father, Mr. Arvind Bhatt, associated with the cable transmission business and a renowned district-level journalist for decades, became the strongest pillar in his life. His father’s neutrality, concern for society, and fight for truth shaped Kushagra’s personality from childhood.His mother, Mrs. Sunita Bhatt, a homemaker, nurtured him with warmth, wisdom, and values that later became the foundation of his sensitive and humane style of journalism.From Jambusar’s Schools to Delhi’s Academic JourneyKushagra completed his primary and secondary education at D.J. Shah and H.S. Shah High School, Jambusar, where he developed a strong ethical and moral foundation.Later, during his college education and journalism studies in Delhi, one thought guided him relentlessly:
“To carry the voice of ordinary people to the corridors of corrupt systems.”From a Call-Centre Job to the World of MediaThe first chapter of Kushagra’s professional life began with a call-centre job in Delhi. It was here that he learned clarity, confidence, and fearless communication.Soon, he trained in cinematography and contributed to short films, advertisements, and documentaries across Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Udaipur. A special 35-day documentary tour across Rajasthan awakened the hidden journalist within him.From Local Reporting to Regional Television — A Turning PointIn 2016, upon returning to his hometown, Kushagra joined a local channel as a cameraman. One of his earliest major stories — “The Dilapidated Swaraj Bhavan of Jambusar: From Ruins to Revival” — created widespread discussion.Following his report, the government initiated reconstruction work. This became the first major breakthrough of his journalism journey.Reporting: Risks, Tears, and In-built HumanityThe memories of the COVID-19 period still bring moisture to Kushagra’s eyes — endless visuals of dead bodies, grieving families, and days of reporting without food or water.Facing violence during coverage, sustaining injuries, and enduring public anger became a regular part of his journey. Yet his principle always remained clear:
“Wherever injustice happens — village or city — my presence must reach there.”A New Chapter Through Digital MediaIn 2021, Kushagra joined Connect Gujarat as a Digital Anchor and Producer. There he mastered digital journalism, visual storytelling, live analysis, and impactful reporting with clarity and empathy.Stepping Into the Television Anchor’s ChairIn 2022, Kushagra joined the regional news channel Gujarat First as a News Anchor.
